Colin MacDonald served at the helm of the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Singapore from 1999 when it was a Business Association and through its early years as a Chamber, until 2011. The Chamber was launched in 2009 and officially inaugurated at the 2010 AGM by Eamonn Ryan, TD. Colin has over 25 years of banking and real estate experience in Asia. In 2006 he founded Fine Grain Property, and has since led its successful value-add investment strategy in Singapore. As a former International Manager with HSBC, Colin worked in Singapore, Taiwan, Bahrain, and Hong Kong between 1989 and 1996. His deep understanding of the Singapore market is drawn from over 15 years of successfully investing, developing and project managing properties and businesses. During 3 years working with Singapore’s largest private real estate developer, Far East Organization, Colin managed the redevelopment and restoration of the historic 5-star Fullerton Hotel. Over 12 years as founder and Managing Director of McCraic Group, Colin identified, leased, and refurbished historic properties as popular bar and restaurant venues, until the successful trade sale of the group in 2009. Colin has served as President of Boat Quay Business Association, Singapore, and was President of Singapore’s Irish Chamber of Commerce for 10 years. He also served for many years as President of The Ireland Fund Singapore, a registered Singapore Institution of Public Character (IPC), which is part of a global philanthropic group.
